ISLAMABAD: In the contentious Twitter case involving the state and national security institutions, a district and sessions court in Islamabad issued non-bailable arrest warrants for attorney and activist Imaan Mazari and her husband, barrister Hadi Ali Chatha, on Monday.
The warrants for Mazari and Chatha were issued by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka, who ordered their arrest and appearance in court on September 24.
The court observed that both suspects had previously received summons notices. Their attorney applied to have the warrants revoked, but the judge immediately denied the motion.
For a follow-up hearing, the case has been postponed until September 24.
