BRUSSELS: On Saturday, flights were delayed and cancelled at many major European airports, including London’s Heathrow, Brussels, and Berlin, due to a cyberattack at a service provider for check-in and boarding systems.
London’s Heathrow Airport warned of delays on Saturday due to a technical problem encountered by Collins Aerospace, which supplies check-in and boarding systems for different airlines across multiple airports worldwide.
Outside of US business hours, Collins Aerospace’s parent company, RTX, was not immediately accessible for comment.
According to Brussels Airport’s website, the attack has left automated systems unusable, enabling only human check-in and boarding processes.
