In an effort to remove language barriers in private conversations, groups, and even channels, WhatsApp has finally implemented a built-in message translation capability for both Android and iPhone users after years of requests.
Users only need to long-press on an incoming message, select the source or target language, and tap the newly added “Translate” option to translate a message. For faster offline translations, users can also download the languages they use the most.
Meta affirmed that customers had more privacy protection because translations take place on-device rather than in the cloud.

Users of iPhones: At debut, the feature will offer translations in more than 19 languages.
Users of Android: English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic were the first six languages offered, with more to come.
