Kapil Dev, the former captain of India, emphasized that his team’s cricket players “move on” and “let politicians do their job” following a string of scandals that marred the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025.
His remarks followed Indian cricketers’ disapproval of the gentlemen’s play from the start of the competition, from their refusal to shake hands to their refusal to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), who also serves as the president of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Dev, who led India to World Cup success in 1983, stated on India Today that although it is normal for players to feel a sense of loyalty to their nation, this should not stop them from being sportsmanlike on the pitch.
