According to Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmed, head of Karachi University’s DNA lab, Sindh’s conviction rate has increased to 15% since the facility’s founding, which is much higher than the 4% average for other provinces.
He spoke these things at a conference that was hosted at Karachi University. The symposium took place at the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences.
Numerous students, as well as representatives from national and international relief organizations, the Sindh Rangers, the Sindh Police, and the military forces, gathered.
Dr Ishtiaq Ahmed said the Sindh Forensic DNA and Serology Laboratory has worked on over 9,000 cases so far. He also presented a detailed report on the lab’s performance during the event.
