PESHAWAR: Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Senate’s chairman and acting president, stated Thursday that Pakistan’s decision to back US President Donald Trump’s peace proposal for Gaza was reached by collective consensus and following discussions with Muslim countries.
Gilani emphasized to the Peshawar media that Pakistan had not and would not make any unilateral moves going forward.
He said, “We are consensus builders.” He went on to say that the agreement with President Trump was the outcome of group decision-making rather than the sole decision of Field Marshal Asim Munir or Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
All coalition partners, including Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates, the acting president clarified.
