The district government has called a jirga to discuss women’s issues for the first time in Balochistan’s history.
Deputy Commissioner Engineer Ayesha Zahri organized the jirga in the Awaran district, which was attended by female doctors, female teachers, female college students, and female council members.
Participants in the event offered suggestions on how to empower women by creating centers for needlework and vocational training.
They expressed worries about the lack of furniture and lecturers in female institutions, the necessity of buses for female students, and the promise that these issues would be addressed as soon as possible.
Following the jirga, participants pledged to offer all required assistance and commended the local administration’s efforts.
