The existence of a rare hybrid bird in the US state of Texas has been verified by scientists.
Details state that a video on a peculiar bird thought to be the progeny of a blue jay and a green jay was created by researchers at the University of Texas at Austin.
According to Brian Stokes, the study’s author, climate change seems to have brought the two distinct bird species together.
Originally from Central America, the green jay hardly made it from Mexico to southern Texas until the 1950s. The blue jay, which is widespread in the eastern United States, only made it as far west as Houston.
