Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reaffirmed Tuesday that his party will not be present at the meeting of the parliamentary committee.
Details reveal that the PTI had chosen not to attend the meeting, even though Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar had stated that four members of the parliamentary committee would persuade the PTI and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) to do so.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the JUI-F, had also urged the PTI to think about joining the special committee that will be tasked with choosing Pakistan’s next chief justice.
He reached out to Qaiser and requested that he think about taking part, but the latter had requested time.
