RAWALPINDI: In an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Bajaur region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces killed nine terrorists, or “khawarij,” including two suicide bombers, on the night of October 23 and 24.
announced Muhammad alias “Qureshi Ustad,” a high-value target (HVT) and terrorist ring leader, was also killed during the operation after a fierce gunfight with the military, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced Thursday.
Large amounts of weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists by the security forces, who were conducting a sanitization operation to eradicate any remaining militants in the area.
The military’s media wing also stated that the militants continued to be actively involved in a number of terrorist attacks against both innocent civilians and security forces.
