Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear also shared his condolences. “Let’s pray for these families today and in the days, months, and years to come so they know they are not alone and they are loved,” he posted on X.
Colina’s death came on Christmas Day, over seven weeks after he suffered serious injuries in the crash.
The Crash
On November 4, UPS Flight 2976 was taking off from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, bound for Honolulu.
During takeoff, the plane’s left engine caught fire and detached from the wing, Kentucky officials said. The aircraft then crashed into nearby buildings, causing significant destruction to the surrounding area.
