Liverpool have become the highest-earning football club in England for the first time, according to the latest Deloitte Football Money League report. After winning the Premier League last season, the club recorded revenues of 836 million euros, putting them ahead of every other English team.
On the global stage, Liverpool finished fifth overall. Real Madrid retained the top position with earnings of 1.2 billion euros, even without winning the Champions League or La Liga. Barcelona climbed to second place after generating 975 million euros, despite playing their home games away from Camp Nou due to renovation work. Bayern Munich ranked third, while Champions League winners Paris Saint Germain secured fourth place.
English clubs continue to dominate football finances. Six Premier League teams appear in the top ten, and fifteen feature in the top thirty. However, this is the first time no English club has made the top four of the rankings.
Manchester City dropped to sixth place after a season without major trophies and an early Champions League exit. Arsenal followed in seventh place, while Manchester United fell to eighth, despite a small rise in revenue. Tottenham finished ninth, and Chelsea completed the top ten.
Aston Villa ranked fourteenth, Newcastle United seventeenth, and West Ham United twentieth. Brighton, Everton, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Wolves, and Brentford also made the top thirty, showing the strong financial position of even mid table Premier League clubs.
Revenue among the top twenty clubs increased by eleven percent, reaching a record total of 12.4 billion euros. Experts point out that Champions League qualification plays a major role in boosting income, as it brings far higher rewards than other European competitions.
