Ilyas Ahmad Bilour, a former senator and leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), passed away in Peshawar, his party reported on Saturday.
ANP leader Samar Haroon Bilour wrote on social media site X, “The father of Ghazanfar Bilour [former] senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour, brother of Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Shaheed Bashir Ahmed Bilour, and Aziz Ahmed Bilour has passed away.”
Senior party leader and Ilyas’s brother, Ghulam Ahmed, confirmed the former lawmaker’s death at the age of 84, stating that he had been getting treatment at a Peshawar hospital for several months due to kidney ailment. He said he died at four in the morning.
