A man in Vermont has discovered an intriguing circumstance. He found a library book that was much past due, but he had nowhere to return it to.
While sorting through his great aunt Madeline’s old possessions, Garry Dufour of North Rupert, Vermont, made the astonishing discovery of an overdue library book that was supposed to be returned back in 1962.
It had been nearly 60 years since Sara Teasdale’s book, “Love Songs,” was published.
In a phone call with News, Dufour revealed that it had been checked out from the College of St. Rose’s library.
OVERDUE BOOK RECEIVED BY THE NEW YORK LIBRARY NEARLY 90 YEARS LATER
It’s interesting to note that, despite having attended the College of St. Rose, his aunt’s name was not included as the borrower.
