KARACHI: Following a heated dispute, a teacher threw acid on a female pupil near Karachi’s Nipa Chowrangi district, police reported Geo News on Sunday.
The event occurred inside an IT centre near Nipa Chowrangi, and the teacher, Iftikhar, was arrested by the police.
The girl, Alisha, and her two uncles, Noman and Faizan, sustained burn injuries and were taken to Civil Hospital’s burns ward, according to authorities.
According to law enforcement officials, the victim’s maternal uncle Noman filed a complaint at Aziz Bhatti Police Station.
The first information report (FIR) stated: “My niece went to get her IT certificate, and Iftikhar and Arshad misbehaved.
According to the FIR, the girl returned home and complained to her uncles about the event, after which the uncles — Noman and Faizan — accompanied her to the coaching centre.
“Iftikhar and Waqar got angry at the coaching centre and the former took out acid from his pocket and threw it at us,” he went on to say.
Acid was thrown on the teacher.
On January 9, a 22-year-old female schoolteacher was hurt in an acid attack in Lahore’s Shahdara Town district after refusing a marriage proposal.
On the day of the event, she and her brother were on their way to school when two accused, Umar Farooq and Ghulam Mustafa, came and threw acid at the victim.
