KARACHI: Pakistan has promised to make sure that anyone responsible for the horrific assault on a convoy transporting Chinese citizens face consequences.
In an explosion near Jinnah International Airport on Sunday night, at least three people—two of whom were Chinese nationals—were slain, while more than a dozen others were injured.
Around 11 p.m. on Sunday, the event happened at a traffic light close to Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.
Television images showed enormous, thick clouds of smoke and a blazing fire coming from the site, and sources informed Geo News that the explosion could be heard throughout the city.
In a statement, the Foreign Office denounced the terrorist attack and conveyed its condolences and sympathies to the families of the Chinese and Pakistani victims. The FO spokesperson also prayed for a speedy recovery for those who were hurt.
