KARACHI: According to police personnel cited by Geo News, there were fatal skirmishes between two groups in Karachi’s Golimar district on Sunday that resulted in at least two deaths and nine injuries.
Two armed groups opened fire on each other, resulting in deaths. Some enraged members set fire to many vehicles and blocked both lanes of the key road heading from Lasbella to Nazimabad.
While the injured were receiving treatment at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Chief Police Surgeon Dr. Sumaiyya Syed confirmed the number of fatalities, stating that one body was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and the other to Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital.
Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar has taken notice of the situation and requested a report on the occurrence from the Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Additional Inspector General (AIG), directing law enforcement agencies to bring the situation under control immediately.
