In order to accommodate the hundreds of passengers traveling this summer, Pakistan Railways has announced the inauguration of the “Summer Vacation Special Train.”
From July 5 to July 30, a train will run from Karachi to Rawalpindi.
The Ministry of Railways said in a statement, “Under the direction of Secretary of Railways Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, all the preparation to launch the train is already completed.”
The program seeks to provide a more comfortable travel experience and offer respite to customers.
The special train (50-Dn) will leave Karachi at 8:45 p.m. and arrive in Rawalpindi at 10 p.m. the next day. The train will leave Rawalpindi at 12:30 pm and arrive in Karachi Cantt at 2:15 pm the next day.
The train will make stops in Jhelum, Lalamusa, Gujrat, Wazirabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Raiwind, Okara, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Rohri, and Hyderabad among other stations along the way.
The train is equipped with one brake van, one power plant, five economy class coaches, two AC business coaches, two AC standard coaches, and one brake van.
Six more economy-class carriages will board the special summer vacation train from Lahore, according to the notification.
