ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court ordered the federal government to set up a meeting between party lawyer Ali Zafar and imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan on Wednesday, rejecting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) objection to the bench hearing the review plea against the Article 63(A) verdict.
The PTI founder and Barrister [Ali] Zafar should meet, according to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, who also instructed the attorney general to arrange the meeting.
The development occurs as the Supreme Court Bar Association’s (SCBA) petition challenging the apex court’s previous ruling on the defection is heard by a five-member bench led by the Chief Justice of the Constitution (CJP) and composed of Justices Amin-ud-Din Khan, Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, and Naeem Akhtar Afghan.
