The Princess of Wales, Catherine, celebrated her 44th birthday by sharing a personal video on social media highlighting the healing power of nature and the changing seasons.
In the video, Catherine reflects, “Even in the coldest, darkest season, winter has a way of bringing us stillness, patience, and quiet consideration.” This is the final installment of a four-part series in which she has shared her thoughts on the importance of nature, especially during her recovery after cancer treatment.
“I find myself reflecting on how deeply grateful I am,” Catherine says, walking through forests and touching streams in serene natural settings.
The Princess has also emphasized the importance of calmness, kindness, and limiting screen time in a digital age. She highlights how connecting with nature can boost mental and physical wellbeing, describing the experience in almost spiritual terms: “For the rivers within us flow with ease, fears washed away, cleanse and purify. Come to peace with our tears and discover what it means to be alive.”
Catherine described the video project as a “deeply personal, creative reflection on how nature has helped me heal.” She added that it also showcases nature’s collective healing power: “There is so much we can learn from mother nature, as we look to build a happier, healthier world.”
On her birthday week, Catherine and Prince William visited Charing Cross Hospital to support NHS staff. During their visit, Catherine praised volunteers from Imperial Health Charity, saying that their empathy, compassion, and kindness often go unnoticed but have a huge impact on patients.
