PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Gandapur, made a surprise appearance in the provincial legislature on Sunday following a daylong absence. He declared that “he was present at the KP House the whole time,” ruling out his detention during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) demonstration in Islamabad.
“Multiple police raids were conducted at the KP House. Listen IG [Inspector-General of Police]. The chief executive made a passionate speech before the provincial assembly session, saying, “I was there the whole night.”
Since his abduction on Saturday, when the PTI attempted to hold a protest in Islamabad in the midst of Section 144, which forbids political activity and meetings in the twin cities in order to maintain security, Gandapur’s whereabouts have been unknown.
