Seven terrorists connected to the “Fitna al-Khawarij” group were killed during a significant counterterrorism operation in Mianwali, a statement from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) said. Eight more militants made their way out of the area.
An intelligence-based operation close to Makarwal, Mianwali, effectively stopped a large-scale attack, according to a CTD spokesman. A gunfight broke out when CTD agents tried to capture the militants.
Seven terrorists were slain during the gunfight, apparently by friendly fire from their own group. Eight more managed to flee into the shadows.
From the militants, the authorities took six hand grenades, safety fuses, seven Kalashnikov rifles, ammo, and explosive materials. To find the other eight fugitives, a search and arrest operation is in progress.
