PESHAWAR: Parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were shaken by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Center in the federal capital.
The twin cities and other cities in the northwest province of the nation felt the vibrations from the earthquake.
Peshawar, Swat, Parachinar, Malakand, Lower Dir, Hangu, Charsadda, Swabi, and the surrounding districts were among the KP cities. The areas of North and South Waziristan also reported feeling the tremors.
The southeast of Afghanistan was the epicenter of the earthquake, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Center.
It further said that the earthquake’s depth was 98 kilometers.
A 3.2-magnitude earthquake that struck Karachi earlier this month rattled several areas of the city, including the Clifton neighborhood.
The seismic monitoring center said that the earthquake’s epicentre was located at a depth of 22 kilometers, 15 kilometers northeast of Karachi.
However, the earthquake was not reported to have caused any property or casualty losses.
In the final weeks leading up to June, the city experienced a mild earthquake three times.
A 2.3-magnitude earthquake that struck on May 2 rocked parts of the city, notably Gadap Town, Katohar, and the surrounding Malir district.
