Emergency alerts issued for heavy rainfall in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Amidst predictions of heavy rainfall, NDMA issues 24-hour alert

An emergency notice has been issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) because to the intense rainfall that has been occurring in several districts of Punjab, including Lahore.

Deputy commissioners throughout the province have been directed by PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia to maintain vigilance and readiness to handle any potential emergency scenarios. “All departments concerned must be on high alert to deal with potential emergencies,” he said.

To guarantee prompt coordination and response, all district emergency operation centers have also been placed on notice. In order to minimize and lessen any negative effects of the rain, the PDMA control room is constantly keeping an eye on the situation.

Rescue 1122 and other rescue organizations have been instructed by the DG to maintain their equipment and manpower prepared for rapid deployment.

In order to avoid flooding and waterlogging, emphasis has been placed on the quick drainage of water from low-lying areas.

People are urged to use caution and stay away from locations where there are hanging wires and electric poles. The DG PDMA advised “Avoid old and dilapidated buildings.” Children should be protected with extra caution, making sure they stay away from standing water in low-lying locations.

Citizens can call the PDMA helpdesk at 1129 for assistance. The PDMA representative gave reassurance that all essential steps are being taken to protect the public and efficiently handle the issue.
