Today, February 5, marks Queen Mary’s 52nd birthday. She became Queen of Denmark on this day following Margrethe II’s abdication last month.
To commemorate Mary’s special day, the Danish royal family posted a beautiful picture of the queen with her father.
“Her Majesty the Queen has a birthday and turns 52 today,” reads the description that was attached to the photo.
“The Queen has selected a picture of a memorable time spent with her father from her most recent trip to Australia in December for this occasion.”
The youngest son of Queen Mary and King Frederik, Prince Vincent, took the picture, the palace also revealed.
“His Royal Highness Prince Vincent is the photographer behind it,” the caption continues.
