Former England pacer Darren Gough resigns as managing director of cricket at Yorkshire.

After 15 years of playing for Yorkshire, Gough assumed the position in December 2021, succeeding Martyn Moxon.

After 16 people, including Moxon, left the club at the end of 2021 as a result of the Azeem Rafiq racism controversy, the 53-year-old had to navigate the fallout in the county.

“It’s been an absolute honour to work for my boyhood club,” remarked Gough.

“Having stepped in at a very challenging time, we’ve worked hard to steady the ship and develop our cricket department to ensure we can return to the top tier of English cricket.”

After an initial temporary appointment, Gough was appointed permanently in November of 2022.
