France Wildfire Evacuations
French officials ordered the evacuation of the whole Cap Ferret peninsula on the southwest coast, hundreds of people left by boat.

40,000 Flee French Wildfires
The Cap Ferret peninsula had seen the evacuation of 40,000 people. which features the Bay of Arcachon on one side and the Atlantic on the other.
The local prefect, Sophie Brocas, stated that although 53 homes were lost, 2,000 residences had survived.
By boat, two thousand of the peninsula’s evacuees had already arrived at the port of Arcachon on the bay’s southern shore.

Wildfires Burn Faster
