Following a dip in international market rates, gold prices in Pakistan saw a decline on Monday, after rising for three straight sessions.
The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reports that the price of gold dropped to Rs271,900 per tola, a decrease of Rs600. In a same vein, the cost of ten grams of gold dropped by Rs471, arriving at Rs233,110.
The decline occurs after gold prices rose by Rs500 on Saturday, setting a record high of Rs272,500 per tola.
Gold prices fell dramatically on the global market as well. The global rate, according to APGJSA, was $2,617 per ounce with a $20 premium, representing a $5 loss for the day.
In the meantime, the price of silver per tola on the local market stayed constant at Rs 2,950.
