Audriana Li, the creator of Instagram and TikTok account @dobbyisafreedoodle, has delighted the online world by teaching her 3-year-old Labradoodle a magical array of 15 “Harry Potter” spells as commands, according to the New York Post.
Li, a die-hard “Harry Potter” fan from Toronto, named her canine buddy after the renowned house elf Dobby from the iconic series.

In a mesmerizing 51-second video that recently went viral, Li shows her dog’s wizard-like reactions to beautiful phrases borrowed from the magical realm. Li began his magical training when Dobby was just a few months old, with “Accio (come/recall)” being the first spell he learned at the beginning age of 11 weeks.
The spells contain inventive variations such as “expelliarmus” for “drop it,” “wingardium leviosa” for “jump up,” and the hilarious “go to Azkaban” command to enter his crate. Li jokingly wonders if Dobby’s susceptibility to Harry Potter spells qualifies him as a wizard or if she is a witch putting spells on her “muggle” dog.
Li honestly discusses the difficulties of teaching specific spells, such as altering “Protego” to “tuck” and using “Immobulus” instead of “Petrificus Totalus” for the command “stay.” Interestingly, the most requested spell from devotees is “Avada Kedavra,” which translates to “play dead.”
Dobby’s ethereal demeanor and magical repertoire have earned him a large following of 28,000 TikTok users. Li even has a detailed PowerPoint deck for prospective dog caregivers, complete with pronunciation guides and explanations for each spell.
The enchanting duo continues to capture the hearts of Harry Potter fans and dog lovers alike with their whimsical wizardry.
