ISLAMABAD: The federal government has not yet decided whether to declare a four-day holiday in observance of Eid ul Fitr, according to the Ministry of Interior, which refuted reports suggesting otherwise.
“In continuation of cabinet division’s circular No 10-20/2023 Min-II dated 23rd December, it is for general information that the prime minister is please to declare 9 April 2024 to 12 April 2024 (Tuesday to Friday) as public holiday on the occasion of Eid ul Fiter,” reads a phony notification that has been making the rounds on social media.
The notification making the rounds on the internet is “fake,” an interior ministry spokeswoman revealed in a statement on Sunday.v
