Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), declared on Monday that a planned rally in Mianwali will not take place and that a public meeting would instead take place in Rawalpindi on September 28.
Speaking to reporters at Adiala Jail, where he is being confined, Mr. Khan said that PTI will take legal action and stage a protest if the authorities forbade the demonstration from happening.
Speaking to the media, Khan called a recent story that appeared in an Israeli journal “propaganda,” even if he admitted that it had enhanced his reputation.
“The article claimed I am the only Pakistani leader who enjoys credibility in both Muslim and Western countries,” he said. Khan, however, reiterated his unwavering position toward Israel and charged it with “genocide”.
