Borussia Dortmund’s forthcoming match against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday may be missing the spark of in-form striker Jadon Sancho owing to a hamstring injury, coach Edin Terzic confirmed on Friday.
Sancho, who returned to Dortmund on a six-month loan from Manchester United, has been productive recently, scoring in his previous two appearances. After a disappointing spell at Manchester United, Sancho appears to have recovered his form, netting his first goal since May 2023 in a recent 2-1 victory over Werder Bremen.
His impressive form continued in the Champions League, when he scored again in Dortmund’s 2-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday, propelling them into the last eight.
However, Sancho’s participation in Sunday’s game is doubtful after being substituted with 15 minutes remaining in the PSV match owing to injury. Despite our concerns, Terzic informed us on Friday that “on Thursday we did some tests, and thank God, it’s nothing big.” Nonetheless, Sancho will go through individual training sessions, and his availability for Sunday will be determined appropriately.
Terzic remained hopeful, saying, “Even if he’s missing (on Sunday), it won’t be for long.”
