The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) approved a massive rise in electricity costs for K-Electric customers on Wednesday, effective from Rs5.75 per unit.
The monthly fuel price adjustment (FPA) for May is the reason for the increase of Rs 5.75 per unit.
Electricity rates will rise by Rs 2.59 per unit in May, and customer bills will increase by an extra Rs 3.16 per unit in June due to an adjustment. The electricity bills that are issued for the months of October and November will reflect these modifications.
The regulatory body has verified that this increase in pricing will affect a broad spectrum of customers around the city and be applicable to both lifeline and electric car users.
