Lieutenant General Munir Afsar was ordered by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday to resign from his role as Chairman of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
After citizen Ashba Kamran filed a petition contesting the decision’s validity, the provincial high court declared his appointment illegal.
The decision of the court is a part of a larger case that questioned the NADRA chairman’s appointment procedure.
Following hearings, the court decided in Ashba Kamran’s favor, essentially voiding Lt. General Afsar’s appointment.
