Wealthy Britons Call for Fairer Tax Policies
Former football player Gary Lineker and music producer Brian Eno are among the millionaires who have written to Andy Burnham, the next prime minister, requesting higher taxes.
One hundred and twenty wealthy Britons informed Burnham in an open letter: “We can afford it.” We’re talking about raising taxes on the wealthiest people whose income comes from their possessions. Not on people who get up and go to work every day.”
The letter, which was organized by Patriotic Millionaires, called for a “devolution of wealth and power from the very richest.” Stated that it would result in a more fair society.
Millionaires Back a 2% Wealth Tax
Through a donation tool, people can already freely donate cash or stocks to the Treasury.
