On Thursday, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) protested against joining the cabinet until the government met its demands.
According to sources, the MQM-P informed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) about its intention. The MQM-P had submitted a demand for four ministries in the federal government.
According to reports, talks with the MQM-P were beginning, and the situation will be resolved soon.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui emphasizes the need for maintaining democracy.
On Thursday, MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui emphasized the need of preserving the country’s democracy.
Siddiqui expressed his ideas, saying, “The democracy cannot be strengthened unless the participation of the masses in the process is ensured.”
He emphasized the importance of the supremacy of the constitution by adding, “Everybody needs to follow the country’s constitution.”
“We would not let the leader derail the democracy for the election of the speaker and deputy speaker tomorrow,” he added.
