In order to ensure that similar regrettable tragedies do not happen again, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared on Thursday that the government would unquestionably pursue the perpetrators of the horrific arson attacks on May 9 and impose severe penalties through the legal system.
“The perpetrators of the May 9 assaults are not getting off easy. As he spoke to the relatives of the martyrs in the Convention Center, he promised that the law would follow its proper course and that such an occurrence would never happen again in the nation.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized the event to show support for the families of the dead and to commemorate the first anniversary of the tragic incidents on May 9, 2023.
He conveyed his shock that on same day last year, a well-organized gang with a pessimistic outlook had defaced the martyrs’ memorials.
He declared that those who committed the treacherous act, seeking to distance themselves from the country and its institutions, would eventually pay a price.
