The couple is going their separate ways, according to court documents in Palm Beach County, Florida. They met in 2012 during the Ryder Cup.
After two years of courting, they got married in 2017 and had one daughter, Poppy, in September 2020.
Sean O’Flaherty, McIlroy’s manager, confirmed the split in a statement after the first filing on Monday.
He declared: “A divorce filing has been announced today by Rory McIlroy’s PR team.
“They stressed Rory’s desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible.”
