The PDMA has issued a flood warning, indicating that flash floods are anticipated in the divisions of Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur, and that monsoon rains are predicted to fall in most of Punjab’s districts during the next 24 hours.
The monsoon’s devastation in 2024 claimed the lives of 84 citizens, left 224 injured, and damaged 245 homes.
Lightning strikes, electrocution, collapses of mud dwellings, and decaying buildings were the causes of the deaths.
The monsoon rains have also claimed the lives of 44 animals. Out of the 100 destroyed houses, 145 were partially impacted.
The director general of PDMA stated that “best medical” facilities are provided to injured parties and that financial assistance is provided to affected families in accordance with government policy.
The spokesperson for the PDMA reports that Tarbela, Kalabagh, and Chashma are experiencing low-level flooding.
