Julian Moazzam James, a Christian Pakistan Army soldier, received praise from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday for his promotion to major general.
In his congrats, Prime Minister Shehbaz stated that the contributions made by the Christian community to the advancement, growth, and defense of the nation are immeasurable.
The prime minister wished James well in the future and described his work ethic and professional abilities as a model for the next generation.
Major General James is the first Christian army officer to hold this position.
corpsHelen Mary Roberts, a member of the minority Christian community, was elevated to the rank of brigadier in the Pakistan Army last month. She worked as an Army Medical Corps personnel.
Last year, at a Christmas celebration held at Christ Church in Rawalpindi, General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, praised the contribution of the Christian community to Pakistan’s progress.
The head of the army had also praised the community’s efforts to advance national defense, high-quality healthcare, philanthropy, and education.
In order to realize Quaid’s goal of a united and progressive Pakistan, COAS Munir conveyed his deep regard for the Christian community and emphasized the significance of promoting interfaith harmony.
