Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple will likely release its upcoming Vision Pro headset worldwide prior to its 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is scheduled for June of this year. In the US, pre-orders for the Apple Vision Pro will open today, and sales will begin on February 2. The US tech giant hasn’t, however, formally announced that it will be available in other markets yet.
“If Apple can launch Vision Pro in non-U.S. markets before WWDC 2024, it would be beneficial for promoting the global development ecosystem of visionOS,” Kuo wrote in a recent Medium post. Kuo also stated that Apple plans to share more development details about visionOS with global developers at WWDC 2024.

Kuo stated that the limited initial supply of the headset and the time required to adjust the algorithms to comply with regulations in other regions are preventing Apple from initially launching the headset in other markets. This is the reason why the Vision Pro is only available in the US. Furthermore, Apple wants to make sure that the domestic sales process runs smoothly before extending it to other markets.
Apple recently released a preview of the entertainment experiences that will be available with the Vision Pro headset prior to its launch. The Vision Pro is scheduled to launch with more than 150 3D films from Disney and Apple TV+, according to a press release from the company.

Apple has announced that new 3D editions of the Vision Pro will be released alongside or soon after standard 2D releases on other streaming platforms. According to Apple, owners of the Vision Pro would be able to enjoy more immersive experiences when watching 2D and 3D movies in an environment with spatial audio.
