In its yearly report on Pakistan, the Human Security Institute has identified a number of concerning trends that have an impact on the lives of the country’s residents.
There have been reports of increased fear among Pakistanis over the last three years. Furthermore, there has been a startling 22% increase in deaths linked to terrorism in 2023, along with a marked uptick in terrorist occurrences. The ongoing threat of extremist violence in the nation is shown by this alarming trend.
The report, which is broken down into four categories, also discusses Pakistan’s economic difficulties, such as the country’s 34% gender pay disparity, which is higher than the 23% global target. In 2023, the per capita GDP dropped to $1,471, and the unemployment rate increased to 8.5%.
