Shakira revealed details about her love life following her acrimonious breakup from ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique.
During a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the Waka Waka hitmaker discussed how her ideas on love and friendship have evolved.
Zane questioned her in this talk, “What’s really, truly important to you now?,”
In response, Shakira said, “Friendship.”
She goes on to say, “I think friendship lasts longer than love,” ahead of time, “Though I still think experiencing love, fully experiencing it with all its peaks and valleys it’s so essential to the human life.”
“I love love, but I think I even love friendship a little bit more,” she said.
Shakira spoke candidly about her ‘heartbreak’, saying, “Because I thought love would be there for me forever.”And that’s one of my broken dreams. Maybe I will. I’m not sure if I’d like to find that again. Probably not. Well, I don’t know. I do have friendship, though.”
