Due to the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA), all public and private schools in Sindh will be closed on Monday, August 26. This was notified by the provincial administration on Friday.
A steering group of the provincial education department made the decision to close educational institutions, according to a notification released for the announcement of the Chehlum vacation.
On Monday, the province will mark Hazrat Imam Hussain’s (RA) Chehlum with great religious fervor and veneration, all under strict security.
Following the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 allies in the Battle of Karbala on the 10th of Muharram in 680 AD, a 40-day period of mourning came to an end on this date.
