A smear campaign aimed at undermining the solid connections between two enduring allies was allegedly under way, according to Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, who on Wednesday accused “a political party” of disseminating false information regarding Pakistan-China relations over the previous few days.
Iqbal stated at a Lahore press conference, “Trolling is being used to put pressure on critics, subjecting them to harassment.”
Iqbal declared unequivocally that disinformation against the state’s diplomatic relations and policies would not be tolerated, be it from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) or any other political party.
Even though there are disagreements between the opposition and the government, state institutions shouldn’t be attacked. The stability of the state is put in danger when these institutions are weakened.”
The minister noted that Pakistan and China were improving their relations for the first time.
China’s involvement will take the space program to unprecedented levels. He reaffirmed, “China has indicated a willingness to upgrade the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He asserted that random items did not establish a state’s policy. “While articles are created and published globally, no nation or state bases its policies on them. Governmental talks are used to decide on policies.”
“Cooperation with China has also expanded into the space sector,” the federal minister continued.
