The British buyout firm Sullivan Street Partners has bought UKAT, which runs more than 200 beds across eight locations, according to information obtained by News.
Daniel Gerrard, the company’s chief executive, co-founded UKAT in 2012, specializing in treatment and recovery services for drug and alcohol addiction as well as other broader behavioral health issues.
With its main office located in Hertfordshire, it was purchased in 2018 by Global Growth, a US-based company formerly known as ELI Global.
More recently, UKAT’s primary lender placed the company into administration. This year, multiple bidders participated in discussions over a potential sale.
A number of businesses, such as Medica Packaging and Orbis, which offers protection for unoccupied homes, have been held by Sullivan Street.
It also owns The Wave, a proposal for an inland surf park that plans to construct a location in London in the near future.
According to sources, UKAT would look to increase the number of locations it operates from and diversify its offerings if it was owned by Sullivan Street.
On Wednesday, Sullivan Street could not be reached for comment.
