Multan International Airport’s runway 18 has been blocked for flight operations at various times between February 22 and March 25 due to ongoing repairs.
The runway will be blocked for aviation operations between 5 and 9 a.m.
In the event of an emergency landing notification, the runway will be available immediately.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has imposed a halt on runway repairs.
Last year, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration cell intervened at Multan International Airport, foiling an attempt to’smuggle’ women overseas.
According to FIA personnel, four female travelers were scheduled to fly abroad but were intercepted and offloaded.
The FIA stated that women passengers were being brought abroad for exploitation and did not have any hotel reservations.
“The travel agent arranged the visas and tickets for the female passengers,” the FIA official added.
The 16-member ‘beggar family’ destined for Saudi Arabia has arrived at Multan airport, according to the FIA.
The Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) intervened at Multan International Airport and removed the family from a flight heading for Saudi Arabia, purportedly for begging.
It is stated that 16 travelers, including a child, received Umrah visas. The FIA stated that three travel agents had made arrangements for their accommodation and food in Saudi Arabia. It was stated that the agent should receive half of the alms the family would receive.
The FIA official stated that a case has been registered against all family members.
