On Thursday, the Privatization Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2024 was approved by the Senate.
Details state that Yousuf Raza Gillani, the chairman of the Senate, presided over a meeting. This time, the bill was introduced by Privatization Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and passed the Senate with unanimous votes. The appellate tribunal, which will have judicial authority, will be established in accordance with the privatization.
One judicial, one technical, and the chairman will make up the tribunal. The tribunal’s chairperson will be the retired justice of the Supreme Court. The chairperson and the other tribunal members will serve three-year terms in office.
The privatization appellate tribunal’s members will not be older than 65.
