Due to the continuing heatwave and the anticipated monsoon rains, the Sindh government announced on Wednesday that public and private institutions in the state will be extending their summer breaks.
The extension was announced by the administration in a statement released on Wednesday.
According to a notice released on Wednesday, the Sindh government has prolonged the summer break till August 14 and placed it under the administrative jurisdiction of the College Education Department.
“However the co-curricular activities regarding August 14 celebrations shall be organised in its letter and spirit,” it stated.

Parts of Sindh, particularly the port city, are expected to see another stretch of extreme heat as the heat continues to scorch Karachi and the rest of the province.
Another round of hot, muggy weather is expected to begin on Wednesday, according to a meteorologist.
Simultaneously, he stated that a rain system that is forming in the Bay of Bengal might potentially impact Sindh from July 24 to July 28. He said that Karachi might get rain if the same system affected Gujarat, India.
