In order to accommodate maintenance and regular development work, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) announced on Thursday that power would be suspended in a number of its regions on Friday, or today.
A representative from IESCO stated that from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the following feeders and grid stations would not have power: Rawalpindi City Circle, Sarafa Bazar, City, Fawara Chowk, DHQ, Iqbal Road-II, Liaqat Bagh, Muislam Town, G-15 Feeders, Jhelum Circle, Bahi Khan, Kalya, Pind Matta Khan Feeders, and the surrounding areas.
The Punjab administration, caving in to criticism from the International Monetary Fund, removed the Rs14 per unit electricity subsidy for customers in the Islamabad Capital Territory on Wednesday.
Residents of Islamabad City and the surrounding area would receive their electricity bills at the recently raised rates.
